My name is Xavier H.M. I'm a writer/artist/poet/blogger/dude from Illinois, USA.

This is my personal blog, where I write about my life. I also make art and write poetry and original fiction.

I made this blog in an effort to be more creative and take stock of what's going on in my life. I've tried journaling several times over the years but never stuck with it. The blog format seems to be working well for me, though.

I spent part of 2024 attempting digital minimalism with mixed results, but it gave me enough of a tolerance break to come back with a new vision of how I wanted to use the internet. I want to detach from algorithms and feeds, and regain the sense of curiosity, exploration, and community I experienced in my youth. I'm here to be myself and share who I am with others.

Most of all, I want to make genuine connections. Please feel free to reach out through my guestbook, email, or socials down below. I'm always really excited to hear from new people!

Outside of general blog posts, I keep:

Other notes:

• I write all of my blog posts, HTML, and CSS in Sublime Text
• My daily driver/distro is Linux Mint on an L13 Gen-2 Yoga Thinkpad
• I love using lists, links, footnotes, and the Oxford comma
• I am constantly tweaking things
• This site is best viewed on desktop
• Most of my themes use a modified Gruvbox color palette
