e.g. versus i.e.
No matter how often I look it up, I can never remember the difference between "e.g." and "i.e." 😪
Here's my new rule of thumb: e.g. = for example; i.e. = that is.

I think the basic distinction is "i.e." is used as a stand in for "in other words" or a specific example. Whereas "e.g." would usually be a list of...examples.
