flowergame.net
I was looking at the Discover feed and found folkmoss.bearblog.dev. I liked how their site looked, so I followed their 88x31 button to their neocities website.
I found it really cute and I was struck by a strong feeling of nostalgia, especially when I looked at their adopted dolls page.
I remember playing in several old school doll maker browser games for hours and hours as a kid. This made me remember another pixel browser game, which is actually still up!
I was honestly surprised to see it still up and running, seeing as it's now over 20 years old. The news page shows that it's being actively maintained and developed.
I first found this site on Tumblr when I was about fifteen or so. It was so cheerful, simple, and fun. People would embed their flowers on their blogs, forum signatures, etc. If you click them, you can water them. There's also a cross-breeding aspect to the game that lets you breed rare flowers.
I'll definitely be making a new account and playing again—maybe I'll add a "garden" page here on the blog! The internet could certainly use a resurgence of wholesome things like this.
