Journal #14: Goodwill clothing haul
Went to Goodwill yesterday and scored some awesome stuff for about $30.
I'm visiting the UK next month for two weeks so I'm on the lookout for a new jumper and light jacket.1 I couldn't find a proper sweater, but I got a couple t-shirts,2 a nice collared long sleeve shirt, a thermal zippered vest,3 a pair of Adidas basketball shorts, and a nice pair of cargo shorts.
Here are the pictures I sent to my wife, mirrored so that they face the right way around.

What I'm looking for next
I only buy clothes maybe three times a year, and nearly everything is thrifted.
The only thing I really buy new is trousers; my waist size varies between 32-36, but my I'm so damn short my inseam is 28. Amazon (yuck, I know) is really good about offering specific sizing combos for their clothing line. If anyone has recommendations on where else a short king can buy trousers, please let me know. I generally stick to joggers, chinos, khakis, cargo pants, etc. I can't do denim due to my chronic pain issues; the fabric is too stiff and doesn't have any give to it, which makes sitting down for long periods uncomfortable.
I'll also be on the hunt for another jumper to replace my old one, and perhaps a rain jacket or light jacket I can use for layering. Whenever I find them, I'll be sure to make a new post.
I just freaking love Goodwill so much. It's one of the things I'll miss when I move to the UK. According to my wife, the charity shops over there don't come close to American thrift stores, which is a shame. I can just imagine us coming back to the US to visit my family, or on holiday, and making it a habit of stopping at Goodwill whenever we're around haha.

Footnotes
I've had the same cable knit sweater since I was like 18 and I've finally grown out of it, along with my current jacket and raincoat.↩
I'm particularly fond of the Mossy Oak IL shirt. It'll be nice to rep my home state once I'm abroad.↩
I've always wanted a nice vest. I bought a Dickies vest from Walmart a couple years ago but it was too large, and the denim material didn't have much give to it. This one is perfect though, and what I've always wanted in a vest.↩
