Journal #2
Typing this laid up in bed, freshly-showered of grease and grime from a day of traveling from delayed train to delayed train, sprinting through train stations, city streets, and airport terminals in between. Today wasn't particularly warm (at least according to the new Illinois climate patterns of the past few years), but it was very rainy. Every place I went was imbibed with inescapable humidity. My hair (naturally thick and curly) frizzly ballooned twice its normal size.
My wife's flight was delayed by an hour and a half, then she was stuck in customs for another couple hours. (O'Hare remains the worst airport ever.) I had to cancel our 5pm train to BloNo and buy tickets for a 7pm train. We busted ass getting to the track on time, only for that train to be delayed a whole hour.
TLDR: Crappy day of travel, but wife is home! We are exhausted. Also, I checked out of social media around 4pm CST and I'm not going to check any news until well into tomorrow morning.
Now I just want to sleep.
