new blog ideas & plans, first #update, blogging sprints?
Hope everyone is doing well! I've been so busy lately. My wife is going back to the UK in a couple days unfortunately. I'm going to miss her so much, but time spent apart is always great incentive to get back into my own hobbies. I'd really like to start blogging again. I've also got some ideas on reworking my blog theme, as I want it to better match the design language of my personal website.
I've been thinking about how I blog and what I blog about...I've got soooo many drafts of long posts that are basically essays, which is all well and good but that's so much pressure to put on myself. I think I might try taking up Weeknotes or something, just little life updates to keep me in the flow of writing/posting/creating.
Hmmm...I guess I could start that now in the spirit of my new ambitions. I might as well make a new tag, I think I'll go with #update
.
Aaggghhh!!! This is so hard. I'm sitting here at my laptop staring at the screen. Random thoughts kept popping into my head but my fingers refused to move across the keyboard. Like my thoughts weren't good enough to share.
I've been wanting to get into a better schedule doing creative writing, too. Something I want to try out is writing sprints. Which is what it sounds like—allotted chunks of time where you write for as long as you can, or as much as you can. Maybe I need to do that with blogging too. Blogging sprints??
I'm giving myself three minutes to write the rest of this post, using the terminal timer app that I use. I love terminal apps! This one is called tclock.
My wife and I just sat down to watch an ocean documentary. We've been watching a bunch. Right now we're pretty obsessed with oceans, after coming out of a huge bird phase.
We tried potato bread for the first time the other day and we both love it. I've never had it before. My wife wants to look up recipes to make our own in the future.
I've got an original novel idea percolating in my head. I think it would lend well to becoming my first book. Something experimental and rough around the edges.
I've also been getting into reading trans politics and essays etc again. Slowly forming my own sort of theoretical framework through which I read and write. Gonna make some big moves on that front soon too.
Nearing the end of the three minute mark. This felt good! I'll do it again soon! :) I've created a #sprint
tag for these sprints now too.
